Yep...odd but true... very few people run the low 13s/high 12s... really its the same as the fbody cars only we don't have torque management and a bad tune holding us back the entire time.

Traction is just so bad with them. Hard to get much out of them. I had to really work for that 2.1.

Got a dyno tune scheduled for the 19th. Guy said he usually pulls about 30 rwhp out of them. Plus torque management reduction, etc. he is thinking the downpipe will only show about a 10hp gain, but that it'll help across the curve.

Got the pipes on. I gotta give credit to JBA for quality parts. Fitment was perfect, and not one leak anywhere. Took about an hour to knock out and sounds sick imo. Here's a vid.

I think you need to ditch the flowmasters again! They just have that tone to them that I dont like, I dont like them on any car/engine. need a set of straight thrus!

Straight thrus would sound good with an X-pipe, but not so much with what I have imo. I had SLP LM2s with X-pipe on my 04 GTO and they sounded very tuned, like an exotic (almost/not really) but definitely didn't have the deep tone these have.

Thanks, Miler! Yea stock size 235s, 18" Goodyears. The tread looks all aggressive and all, but do nothing for traction. Looking like the most cost efficient solution is going to be a set of stock 17s with some MTs. Been seeing some go up for sale with used tires in the $200 range, just haven't been quick enough on the trigger, lol.

Got it tuned today. No idea what the baseline was. I had to drop it off and go on to work. Made 373/373. The torque curve looks really good. Definitely some potential there considering it only has a KN "CAI", catless mids, and axle back flowmasters.

How does it run compared to pre-tune? Those are some nice numbers for minimal mods..... So IIRC that GTO right there has only 5rwhp less (with an intake and midpipe) than your old 11sec Camaro that had milled heads and a cam?
