first time to the track last night - had fun and saw a GT500 eat a wall...
my son's first time to the track
first run, very nervous - ran ~16.5
got his timeslip and we checked things, he felt good though as he beat out and old '73 El Camino with a 350 :baller:
then 2 races behind us, this NEW GT500 (literally 2 weeks old) found a wall after hitting 2nd gear
after about 1:20 of cleanup - he got his 2nd (and last) run down to 16.05 - MUCH IMPROVED (but wants to do better)
his is the far lane
we figure this car is probably good for mid 15s once he gets the drop
we had a great night - hope you enjoy!

Father & Son time at the track is awesome. I turned a lot of wrenches + track time with my Dad back in the day & have done the same with my 3 sons, daughter & wife.
Bummer about the GT500. I've seen many nice street cars "kiss" the wall. Now that most performance cars have built in "nannies" to control power it surprises people when they get to the track & turn them off then the car gets squirrely.
