GTO Vs GTO Vs Mach 1
Well, since having my feelings hurt at the track a few weeks ago by running 13.6 at 106, I decided to do some things. Got dyno tuned and threw on a JBA cat-less mid. Tune showed 373/373. I was skeptical that it put that much down, so lined up some runs with my usual crowd. Their cars are very consistent and have become somewhat of a control for comparing. We got go-pro vid, but it'll be awhile before its uploaded..don't hold your breathe, it might be tonight or could be a few days.
My car, 2006 GTO, manual, KN intake, Tune, JBA Mid, Flowmaster Mufflers, no spare or skid plate (100lb reduction).
GTO I ran, 2006, 3200 stall, longtubes, vararam intake, off road mids, tune, spintech mufflers. No spare (75lbs reduction). Car made 360 rwhp and runs 12.6 at 110 on a 1.9 60'.
2003 Mach 1, longtubes, catted ORX, magnapack cat-back, tuned, intake, 4.10s, 555Rs, UDPs..can't remember what it put down on the dyno but it runs high 12s at 110 mph also.
First runs, GTO Vs GTO, 30 mph roll. I honked it off, get an even start and immediately blow the tires away. He hooks up and right off the bat puts over a car on me. I shift to 2nd and spin some more, but start to get it under control and stop his pull. I go to 3rd and start closing the gap. By 4th gear I'm beside him still inching. Shut down at that point.
2nd run, same start, same traction issues, same result.
3rd run, 50 mph start me in 2nd gear. He slept on the pedal so it was a wash.
4th run, 50 mph start, 2nd gear, even start, my car pulls right away and by 120 is ahead by 2 cars or so. Maybe more idk...
Mach 1 is next..40-45 roll. He is sitting at close to 5k RPM, I'm in 2nd gear around 3-4k can't remember. He honks. It was an even start but basically the Goat instantly jumped out and pulled pretty hard. I was really surprised because the convertible SS I had and him were much closer from the start. The SS would pull him over 100 mph, but not instantly like that. As for the SS vs the GTO I ran, he would jump ahead a half car at least everytime, then the SS would more or less just stop his pull, maybe inch closer sometimes. So basically this GTO I have now is much stronger than that SS was, and I'm hoping that since it pulled good on two 110 mph cars, that it will trap well above that. Whole thing shocked me to be honest.
Finally..heres the 50 mph rolls.. waiting on the 30 roll vids. Sorry for the wind noise.

Annddd the 30 rolls. Camera is on my car for these runs. Not as much wind noise. You can here my pile spinning from the hit. Took a few seconds to hook up and get going..

Alright I saw this thread and got all excited that vids were up, and no vids :'(
It's crazy how much better this gto seems to be then your last ss. A few more small things and it might run some times similar to your cammed/243 ss.

I think everyone was surprised including myself that I pulled the other GTO up top. Especially since he is on a locked converter. There is a vid of the first round of runs on FB, but its a locked page so I'll have to wait for the guy (Machxlr8) to get done with the rest and post to youtube before I can post here. Hopefully it won't be much longer.

Those gto's are like a woman gotta know how to work em! My 06 ran a 12.89 @ 108.** basically stock. And there was a lot more power there that needed unleased but someone's grandmother smashed it.
Always fun to run cars but bids are a must.
