What's your technique? it doesn't sound like you're revving it sky high on your launch and it still hooks like glue...

Launched at 5,000 RPMs, but let the clutch out slow enough not to kill the 19" DRs. It probably would've hooked on a 6000 RPM launch like that, but might've taken the differential out with it!

Wow.. those tires must be expensive to launch on those RPM's!

Do all stick shifts launch hard with the right tires and suspension?

The 19s aren't cheap, but ya gotta pay to play, right?

5.0s definitely launch hard with UPR suspension and M/T DRs.

A lot of guys at my track need some lessons from you.. I routinely see 14 second 5.0's and 13 second GT500's all day long. Kind sad really... first thing I'd do with either car is spend a nice chunk of change on some killer tires

Yikes. That's bad!! In all fairness, I've been racing Mustangs for 22 years, so I was bound to learn something along the way.

I raced a 14 second gt500! I ran a 12.8 with traction control on. he came rocketing past me at the end with a 123mph trap speed. 14.0@123! he did have street tires and a 2.6 or maybe it was 3.2 second 60 foot.

Nailing down the launch on a stick is tough. the trick is to rev it up and let the clutch out fast and smooth and keep yourself from nailing the gas too soon after the clutch is out.

lol gotta love those killer trap speeds! May not be quick in the 1/4 but they're right on your tail and will put a hurtin' on ya

I am dying to test drive a '13 5.0 but honestly, it'll humble me.. I haven't driven anything with that much power through a stick shift. All the cars I have owned with superchargers were all auto! I haven't lived.. I know! lol

Have you ever thought you were phenomenal at something, but when you go and try it out, you sucked at it?
That's me racing a stick shift!
