Yea that's what I'm afraid of. Don't want to do 4.10s add big tire and be where I started

I know on my black SS, a 28" tire knocked my 3.73s back to a 3.08 or something crazy so I sold them before I even tried them. Stock tires were 275/40/17.

Do what I'm doing, meet in the middle and get a 27. I'm gonna make one more attempt at the track with some suspension changes and see how my tires do, if they still struggle I'll accept they're junk and get 27's on a true 15" drag wheel. it's a good meet in the middle because like you I was torn between the two.

I run on 26s. They should be fine for your future power level.

What do you guys think my trap speed would be at 380hp/470ft lbs? Guessing I'll be in that neighborhood. I'm messing with a gearing and tire calculator that gives rpm at speed. I'd be doing 6300 at 120mph and I hit limiter at 6500 or 6600 so I'd say 120 will be the cars new top speed.

Another one is calling 6400 with 4.10s and a 26 120.79mph

Yeah being an auto car I'd just go 26's now that I think about it. your car will be easy enough for a 26 to handle off the line and you wont be running out of gear. My old 2000 with a 125 shot trapped like 113 I believe, but that was with a sloppy converter that I'm pretty sure never locked up. If you're still running a stocker and assuming it locks in 3rd at some point I'd guess you'll be right around that 116-118 area.

Also I use the paladinmicro gear calculator, has always been the best and closest calculator I've used for this stuff and it's saying with a 26" tire, 4r70 and 4.10's you'll be right at 118 at 6500.
