That ecoboost is very impressive.

Random question but do the other ecoboost cars in the Ford family respond that way to mods/tuning? I mean top to bottom from the SHO and ST's to even the Escape and Fusion.

A friend of mine with an ecoboost Flex has surprised quite a few people. With Livernois tuning his AWD Flex was putting 500 to the wheels. He takes it to the track, seating for 7 with kids car seats in it, and runs low12's on street tires.

They all respond very well but some better than others. The mustang gained the most so far iirc. The sho and f150's would probably be next, I think those pick up like 50whp/80+ ft lbs. the focus st gains like 30/80, I don't remember what we got out of the fiesta st, and then the 2.0 and 1.6's in the escapes/fusions picks up the least I think that was like 20/50 which is still a lot for a tune just not compared to the other EB's.

Out of curiosity, what gear is in the car Livernois is testing with. The base ratio or the upgraded 3.55 with the performance pack?

The base, which I believe is like 3.27 or something. the only way to get the 3.55's was with the track pack, and the boss didn't want that as it has bigger brakes and just makes it more of a pain to fit drag strip oriented wheels/tires on it.

I'm not sure what was done to his flex but we've never had a flex make 500 on our dyno. Most we've ever done to a flex is bolt ons and that puts it in the 350whp territory. To clear 400 you need a turbo upgrade and meth since the fuel system is out of steam. To get any higher than 440's you'd need a built engine to support it which we've only made a few so far. Unless he's spraying it then I guess it's possible.

He does have a meth kit, and I thought he said 500 but maybe it is in the 400's? Anyway, it is pretty quick and surprises a lot of people, including one Porsche owner at Milan who was really upset about getting beat by a Flex with full interior.
