Bokeo, what did that SS run through the 1/4? I've heard their launch control works pretty good.
The SS ran a 13.4 (+4,000 DA). The Bolt on Tuned 5.0 has gone 12.9

I raced a cobalt ss in my 07GT... what annoyed me about that race is we were at a stop light, road completely clear, but he wouldn't go from a dig, insisted on a roll. which.. automatics suck for roll racing. once I finally got going though I was pulling on him, but he was already 2 car lengths ahead.

Roll racing is stupid. Its for cars that can't put the power to the ground, plain and simple. I'm glad they have been to the track and done some real racing and I'm not mad to the other guy.

Roll racing isn't real racing, it's two retards speeding together. Who said that?

I have the same 2.0L 4 banger in my Solstice GTX with the factory GMPP performance tune, it's way faster than my 3.7 . They have 260 hp stock, the tune is supposed to add 30 up but it feels like more. The Solstice is a rwd, I'm guessing the cobalt wants to start from a roll because of torque steer. You can tune them to 400 easily on the factory block, there are a few at 700hp. The new turbo Mustang should be the most tunable Mustang made.

Yep, fairly easy to get the hp out of anything, difficult as hell to put the power to the ground and get it to drive properly. You can put a Keith Black hemi in a stock Mustang and roll race it from 250 mph. A bit different from a dig. Roll racing is for cars that can't put the power to the ground.

Maybe we should start our own race class. NRRA (National Roll Racing Association). Who's in ? :-)

If it involves driving fast or racing of any kind, im in. Obiviously the wrong wheel drive cars like the role races for a reason. I always thought it was more challenging to strap a set of slicks on the little 4 bangers and go to try and out run the cars with the power going to the proper wheels.

Around here we mostly roll race because we have too, not because we want to. Its hard enough finding a straight stretch of road without too much traffic, much less stopping in the middle of said highway to do a dig. I'm not saying we never do literally stop traffic in a 70 mph zoned highway, but which is "dumber", coming to a dead stop in a 70 mph zone, dig racing stoplight to stoplight risking a T-bone situation, or just going from a roll once traffic clears out front?

You get it done as quickly and relatively safely as possible, and that almost always means going from a roll.

Me? Naw man I'm in North Carolina. But your bolt on 5.0 should pull pretty good. I ran a intake/tune 5.0 a few months ago and it was pretty close. He got ahead by a fender by 110-120.
