Default Ran the Z28 again

I went last weekend, but after waiting 2 whole hours to get ONE pass in I decided to head back down last night to see if I could do better. Last weekend I only managed a 12.7 at 110. 1.9 something 60'. I was scared to launch too hard and spin after waiting that long. Anyway, went back last night and ran two more passes. First as a 12.5 at 110.9 and the 2nd was a 12.6 at 110. Both were 1.91 60s, which sucks cause I was leaving as hard as she would leave, dead hooking, and still only pulling 1.9s. I don't know if its the heat or the stock stall or both causing that, but I can promise I will be putting a proper 3200 9" stall or so in her asap. The car is also having some 3rd gear stuff going on. One problem is that it bounces off the rev limiter going into 3rd, which is no big deal. That can be fixed with some tuning tweeks. The real problem is that its slipping bad after the shift. RPMs go up, then slowly drop until it grabs...that deal. Not good, but thats racing. I'll get another trans for her that'll hold while I'm doing the stall. Anyway, its nothing over the top, but for an old Z28 with headers, 3.73s, a tune, lid, and some DRs in some good old North Carolina summer heat I think its alright. I'm sure she'd run 2-3 tenths faster at least as it sits this Fall.

I do have some weight reduction going on too. Passenger and rear seats out, front bumper re-enforcment removed, front sway bar, rear speakers, jack/tire/tools, wiper fluid tank, air pump gone..I think thats it. Close to 200LBS, with lots more coming off when I feel like getting back out there. Heres a couple crappy cell phone vids for yall..

And inside facing rearward..

Nice improvement. The up side is you can make repairs and be read to run your best times in the fall. I know it sucks when the car breaks. She'll crack 11s no problem with the stall.

^ agreed. Put a proper trans/converter in it and I bet she'll be knocking right on that door to the 11's come fall!

I think it ought to get close to or into the 11s with a stall and fall weather too. Hope so anyway. I checked the trans fluid, smells fine. Still has a nice red color, so I'm not sure what to make of that. Maybe I just haven't got it hot enough to scorch the fluid yet, or maybe its some other issue.

Update your sig, Greddy!

Leaf blower has messed two of my vids now! Love the rearward facing camera. The perception it gives is crazy.

Soldier, lots of plans. Going to continue the weight reduction. Carpet came out today, planning on a k-member, etc. Outside of that I still can't decide between camming the LS1 or turbo 4.8.

Nice times. It was humid as heck yesterday too, that didn't help.
