Default ME vs 96-98 stang gt

So i was driving home with my girlfreind, cming back from asheville. i was goin kinda slow just to see what i could find, so 2 guys in a 96-98 gt pull beside me, look at my car, i nod to show em im interested in a race. i wait for him jump at about 55, the ends at somewhere around 80-85, the guy let off when i pulled passed him. I only have a few mods, were the stock 96-98 faster than stock 94-95?

I think its not much difference, maybe weight could be a factor?

I think the 94-97's are all rated at 215HP and the 98's are rated at 225. And i think the 96-98's weigh less then the 94-95's so maybe you were just a better driver then he was.

The 96-97 had a 4.6 with 215hp and 285tq weighing in at 3280 which is the same as the 94-95 5.0's. But the 98 had a 4.6 kickin 225hp and 290tq weighing in at 3227. So I would say the 98 is the fastest out of the 94-98 styles

94-95 have 215 hp and 285 torque. Slowest mustangs of the bunch. Especially considering the 'vert. Was he AOD?

Some of the 98 GT weight loss wouldve been the removal of 2 cats, bringing it to 4 total. That probably had to do with the 10hp gain as well.

They have a different computer, and better tuned exhaust

the 94-95's only have 215 due to smaller intake runners compared to the foxes which have 225 thats the only difference between the the two motor wise and 94-95's also have 4 cats.
