H&R Spring Help
I have a 2000 GT convert. I want to get that stance. I have new 18x9/10 wheels installed. If I install the H&R sport springs do I need to also install caster camber plates?
Thanks for any advise.

No... you do not have to install CC plates, but offers some advantages. I thought H&R had some "Sport" springs, but only see the Super Sports. The SS springs are quite an aggressive drop and CC plates are a good idea. If you are looking to get OEM alignment specs, or close to them, you will need the plates with SS springs.

You don't "need" cc-plates, but in addition to giving you more adjustability, they eliminate the huge soft rubber bushings on the factory strut mounts, which improves handling and steering response. They're worth the money for that reason alone.

It makes sense really, the OEM setup has enough adjustment range to be able to compensate for variances in the body-in-white assembly. So some cars will have more than enough range remaining to tolerate a drop and some cars will not. As it stood, my Camber was already at the limits of it's adjustment range before the spring swap.
Some guys pay for alignments and fail to get factory specs due to mods like these. Then what are your choices?
Most shops will not refund the cost of the alignment if they can't get factory specs due to mods, so you are out about $150, and you got nothing for it.
Then you pay $200 for CC plates (install yourself or pay $150-200) and have it aligned AGAIN. So you are out another $350-550.
Luckily for me, I was able to adjust my factory plates to their limits and with my rudimentary tools, make the call to do the CC plates and not waste the $150 on a failed alignment.
Maybe this just applies to SN95s? Maybe your New Edge is better, maybe get some info from New Edge owners with mods & alignment issues.
I used the MM CC plates and are VERY happy with the design and quality of the parts. I am a retired Engineer & I am picky when it comes to parts. The quality of the materials, design & finishes all get critiqued, so few parts "make me happy", but these do.
