Default Front Sprint Removal Shortcut?

Front SPRING. can't edit the post title....

I remember seeing a YouTube video where someone used an impact to buzz off the strut nut, jacked the front of the car up, and pulled the spring out. The strut mount went up with the body, the strut body remained with the chassis, and the spring was fully liberated. Five minutes per side.

Now I can't find the video. Did I dream up the technique or does it actually work?

This is just my opinion of course, but I wouldn't do this.
Just too much to go wrong.
Sure its possible and so is filling a deflated tire with flammable gas and lighting it to put a tire back on the rim...but is it a good idea?

Moot point. It doesn't work. The lower control arm and the steering linkages won't articulate far enough to liberate the spring.
