turbo ?'s
hey i have a few questions about the turbo setups. 1st with a holset hy35 can i use an aftermarket header? 2nd what benefits do you get if u use the 90 degree or the 180 degree upper intake i want to run a front mount so i dont really know if using one of the two would benefit more. also when using the stock throttle body what are the limits of it before having to upgrade to 65mm

2. What do you mean? Like a ROTATED intake? inline? Square? what? If your going intercooler, is it coming out the same way its going in? if so it should stay stock (like mine) but if its a volvo intercoler than it wil cut down the piping.
3. Stock limits? I know a few people running 11's on stock TB's, VAM's, computers, etc. Just depends if and when you can upgrade.
4. Unless your car is an SVO please don't post in the SVO section. Post in the tech section.

RE: turbo ?'s
If you are going to run a Holset you will probably want an aftermarket header for the simple fact that they flow better than the stock manifold. Better flow equals quicker spool up times.
I assume you are talking about a rotated intake? Basically it just cuts down on piping for a FMIC, but it certainly isn't necessary. I am still running a stock intake and throttle body.
There is really no point where you get to say "the stock throttle body won't work anymore" It just reaches a point eventually when it is the main restriction, but you won't hit that point until you have upgraded your turbo, FMIC, and port work on the head/intake etc.

RE: turbo ?'s
Manifold, either a stinger or a bobs log. (stiingers is a header) these are the most durable out there right now outside of the E6.
The HY should have a V-band on a 4" exhaust. I would run a 4" down pipe into a 3" exhaust.

RE: turbo ?'s
Vband is an exhaust clamp, trust me, its worth having. It depends what header, but I know people who run a bobs log no problem, but I'm sure if you e-mailed bob he would give you more information.
