Car died and now it won't start.

Car died and now it won't start.
Last night I was going on a little cruise out in the country and the car just dies. It happened about two minutes after I had got WOT, it didn't sputter or make any noises, it just died. I pulled off onto the side of the road and the car wouldn't start, it turns over just fine and I'm getting fuel but there's no spark. At first I thought the coil took a crap because I wasn't getting any spark going to the distributor, so I replaced that today and still no go. What do you think the problem could be? I wasn't getting spark so I pulled the distributor and what do you know, the distributor gear was missing 4 teeth and chunks of others. I replaced the gear, fished out the metal shavings, changed the oil, and set the timing. She's running rough right now, but at least she's running, I suspect fouled plugs to be the cause.

Had that happen to me once in the red SVO. Car was running like a champ, on the way home from the track. I just eased on to it after turning and it just shut off. There were basically no teeth left on the distributor, almost all dust lol
