So... i know u guys have told me alot about the turbos for these motors but my buddy has a turbonetics turbo that needs rebuilt that he only wants 50bucks for. It has the t3 flange but.....The exhausts-hot side of the turbo is stamped AR.84. he said it spoiled on his 2.0l at 2200rpm. wouldnt spool faster because i have a bigger displacment motor? What do these motors typicaly red line at??? Thanks agian!

These motors can be built to handle 8000RPM.

Mine see's the fuel cut (6200rpm) everytime I drive it.

The .84 is getting big but the stock 2.3T has a .63 turbo that spooled by 2500rpm

Turbo spool depends on the mods, turbo, and a few other things.

Whats the compressor side?

Almost any forged pistons will work. I like weisco, esslinger, diamond and CP for pistons. If you go this route you should look at upgrading your rods to if your going to make more than 350 hp

OK so i did alot of research and found those wesico pistons made for stock 5.2" rods .30 over with the dish to keep 8:1 compression for 380.00 then the rings were another 70 bucks on Cheephp.com,my only thing is i dont plan on driving hard or even taking it over 100mph cause ill be breaking somthing in my drive train. Are those pistons really needed? I want to stay forged cause its boosted....what u guys think? just spend the money?

Thats a good price for forged pistons with good quality. You wont break anything iin your drive train till you start making over 300 RWHP
