n/a 2.3 blocks
I have that engine, but the cyl walls are horrible. I was thinking about taking the rods and pistons out of the block and putting them in a n/a 2.3. The question is,... is the n/a 2.3 block exactly like the svo block. It seems like everything that is svo exclusive is in the head, like the oil line the turbo and intake and so on. I'm having a head problem that can be resolved after I build what is easier to get. Is the block from an regular 2.3 powered ford the same as the svo block? Or should I just sell the pistons buy bigger ones , machine the block and go from there? Then again the engine that is in the car now after pulling the head off 2 weekends ago and inspecting the walls due to a blown headgasket, I found that they're perfect and the pistons are beautiful. Should I just throw a front mount, a fuel pump, a boost controller and a regulator on it then call it a day?

The only difference between the block is the hole for the oil return and the nickel content.
In 1990 the N/A blocks became E8, small journal blocks which wont work well because they like to crack.
