I don't know much about SVOs. Found one on craigslist for sale for 4K. Said it needs paint and few pieces. Does run though. How much are these worth? Also what tranny options did they come with?

Does it sound like a good deal?

Well it depends on what pieces it needs, and how bad the paint is. Do you have any pics? I paid $2750 for mine and it looks really nice for a 25 year old car. They only came with a T-5.

It sounds like it could be a little high, but it all depends on what it looks like.

I have asked for pictures. It says the turbo was just rebuilt. Interior is decent and one seat has a small tear. I could probably negotiate with him on it depending on the condition.

Yeah, because $4k seems a little high for an SVO that needs paint, but then again I'm not sure of how the market is in Alabama.

It is in Tennessee. I checked NADA and it said it was at low retail value. For paint I would just buy it and have my dad paint it.

There is a guy in our car club that has a turbo coupe and turbo capri I could get part off of.

Well then it doesn't sound like too bad of a deal then if getting it painted isn't an issue, but hopefully TRBOPWR will chime in, he has more knowledge than me on the subject.

I PM'd him. I also PM'd a guy on another forum that owns a shop in Birmingham, AL and he owns a few SVOs also.

Hopefully get the mustang running tomorrow and have the guy come by Friday. Hopefully buy it, then hopefully after coming back from vacation buy the SVO if in good enough shape.
