Cool

Are your SpeedPros dished for lower compression? What's the part #? They don't look like these, do they?

If they do, back to the drawing board!

Set your initial timing to 10* BTDC but you can play with it and see where it likes it. Disconnect the IAC and set idle to 700-800. With IAC connected the idle should hover around 1000. Now set your TPS to .94v.

You should be able to hit 300hp with no problem. I saw no mention of an AFPR or adjustable cam sprocket. You should have both. Then find a quality shop in your area, take it in and have it dyno tuned. Best couple hundred $$$ you ever spent!

Wow, those are the pistons everyone is trying to get but are now unavailable from Summit! They must have been sitting on your shelf for awhile.

This is the regulator you need.................
Kirban AFPR

and this is a good adjustable cam gear.........................
Racer Walsh adjustable cam gear

I run the one on the right.

you say stock 5.5 rods. 5.5 is a "long rod" so are 5.7" the factory rod is a 5.2 just so you know. i hope you have 5.2s or else your piston will be making an unhappy hello with the roof of the combustion chamber.

also are you using a big main block or a small main block? i would also like to point out that the 1035 gasket is over rated. ive blown them on 24psi. i use the $10 na 2.3 paper felpro gasket. just spend 5 dollars on some spray paint, paint both sides of the gasket let it get really tacky(almost dry-very tar like) then put it on and torque the head as normal. i have had the same headgasket on my 2.3 as described for 16 of the 18 months ive owned it. its been mostly parked for the last 5months but ive had no issues with it.
