Default RE: Dyno results question

ORIGINAL: Baef

320 is crank rated HP, my dyno result is rear wheel drive train, and transmission cause loss. Not sure of the math for that loss as it varies by car, age, etc.

My crank output is probably well over 320, but unless I pull my engine I don't know how to measure it.

And yes, the 1999 Cobra's required a fix to get the rated HP.
I think most people use about 15% drivetrain loss stock as a number, but when you start adding aluminum driveshafts and flywheels and underdrive pullies, synthetic addities you "free-up" some of that loss and can get closer to 12% loss. Stock 320 * 85%= 272 RWHP. WITH CAI and exhaust I would expect closer to 290 RWHPfor you but defiantely within the possibilities at 282(?).

but you have to remember, what about the heat, andthe humidityin Florida when you did it? or how cool was the car from the driver over? There are other variables that go in with it... Your dyno# is fine.. just make sure you a/f is ok - and I wouldn't worry about anything else.

What heat and humidity? I know his dyno had a humidity sensor which is supposed to help compensate.

I looked up A/F ratios, and in theory it seems that 14.7 is the goal (for gas engines), mine on the dyno report is between 12.4 and 13.1... That just means that I am running a little rich?

An A/F ratio of 12.5 to 13.0 is damn near perfect at WOT. The 14.7 number is the stoichiometric ideal which is usually only seen at idle.
