Default Dyno results question

I just got my exhaust put on, and had my car dyno'd and of course am curious about the results.

My 01 Cobra, JLT CAI, pro-chamber, and Bassani cat-back, with Diablo canned tune pulled at 286.2HP/294.2Tq

I am just curious if this is about normal, seems fine to me and I think the car is great.

Don't be to concerned with dyno power... it's really a tuning tool... the numbers can be skewed to almost any number the operator wants it to put out...

However, that number seems to be around what most see...

+1. They are a tuning tool and can be falsley inflated to show higher hp results. That does not mean however the a/f or timing tables are off. Most people who just "drive" cars have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. There don't even hardly know what a/f or spark tables mean! They are only concerend with that HP number that is balogna most of the time. My 97 Cobra with bolt ons and LT headers only put out 268.8rwhp and 286rwtq but I would consistently beat up the Mach's and 99-01 cobra's that basically had a cai and catbacks. I had mine done on a DynoDynamics which is very conservative much like a Mustang dyno, these numbers can even reveal less of an output than what the car may actually do going down the street as that in itself cannot be simulated as of yet on a chassis dyno! That would be frigin awesome if they had that type of set-up.. prob $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Just make sure your a/f is fine and your not throwing out too much spark for detonation. Drive the car and be happy dammit!...lol

I am not sure about the pictures, I see others have a little camera icon near their name but whenever I try to look at their pictures I only see broken links. I thought that was just broke along with the search.

To the others, thanks for the input. I do not know much about the A/F although it was output with my dyno, the tuner said it was fine when I asked about it. I will check out a bit about what it means (I understand the what the ration is, but not the implications).

320 is crank rated HP, my dyno result is rear wheel drive train, and transmission cause loss. Not sure of the math for that loss as it varies by car, age, etc.

My crank output is probably well over 320, but unless I pull my engine I don't know how to measure it.

And yes, the 1999 Cobra's required a fix to get the rated HP.

well the only thing age has to do with it is worn parts, oil deposits, etc.

but 320 is the rated crank hp yes he's right... we talk about rear wheel hp here.... only dealers and magazines talk about bhp....
