I run paint on paint with stock '01 Cobra's and usually take them if they aren't geared. I don't sweat them until the highway presents itself and you can see from my sig I haven't spent much. Primetime has a totally different species of 5.0...and yes I'm fully aware Cobra's are more modern musclecars adorned with more creature comforts. They just aren't that great out of the hole stock is all...

and ok, not going to argue, but the fact is a 5.0 is slower, stock for stock. only thing i was pointing out.

No question there bro, a stock 320hp mill, even in a heavier package will rape a stock 225hp one...

and trust me, i'm not hating on the old 5.0's. my friend has had a couple, and always have fun ridin in one. yet to have driven one though.....

I know you're not, they're fantastic motors but stock for stock they're no comparison for a modern hand built all aluminum 4V. I've driven plenty and it's merely "my" opinion that they ('01 Cobras) don't seem to make the torque down as low in the power range that's all. If I get a jump on one we have to be going pretty good before I get reeled in, and at that point I'm done anyway, I'm not into cops and 140mph pulls ;-)

i hear ya. main thing i hate about my '01 is the wheel hop. lol. so i take it easy from a dead stop, for fear of having to replace the rearend.
