Give state farm a call. They might beat the prices you have been quoted on by other insurance companies.
State farm is the way to go. I remember paying $230 a month full coverage with a Focus with Allstate. When I got the GT last year, they wanted to charge me like $300 a month for the GT. Called State farm and ended up paying like $160 a month.
Now I have a Cobra at age 24 and paying around $110 a month full boat. I also have a clean record and my job would kinda require me to keep it that way (Police).
Also from experience, MOST of the time when you pay for car insurance isnt for the service. I payed all that money to Allstate and they were HORRIBLE. Allstate is the worst or atleast the officer in Hatboro, PA is. That place is filled with horrible customer service.

I cant believe the amount of money you guys pay for insurance. Its not worth it all. Build another car until your are older. Buy a classic car put a 1000 hp engine in it and get a collector policy. It really does work. I now have 3 new mustangs and 3 old one on the same collector policy. Try this way. Its cheaper than $220 a month. You guys are getting rapped. And how the hell can you 19 years old afford it? When i started driving my dad made me get my own insurance it was 300 every 6 months for a honda!! And I had trouble with that. This was 20 some years ago

limp... just so you're aware... When I was paying 250 p/m for my Cobra with full coverage.. I was still paying 180 per month for my 88' Grand Prix with collision ONLY, had almost the same premium with my 88' Cougar XR-7 too...
Now, at 24 I pay 230 p/m for my Mach 1 and a Fusion on my policy..
Depending on where you live, it's a lot to have insurance now a days... Especially when you're young on your own policy.
Plus, we/they can afford it because your working for your car. I actually had a real job making good money (over 40k by the time I was 22), so I can afford it, plus my housing. But, that's how. lol.
