Smile Exhaust not loud enough

Ok, I ordered the Flowmaster American Thunder kit for my Cobra and just got it on about an hour ago. I sounds great but why isn't it louder? Currently it's BBK long tubes, short off-road H, and the AT system. I had a full length off-road H and the AT system on my 98 GT and it was twice as loud. What gives? I miss the loud growl of the GT and was almost certain this would give me that for my Cobra, is there something to do with the 4 cams vs the 2 or was the GT a freak? (I doubt it was the freak part) lol

Order some 1-Chamber flows and weld them into the catback. It will give it the loud sound you want.

I don't want loud, I want the exact sound I have now to be louder. Changing the muffler will change what it sounds like and I don't want to do that. If the exhaust had a volume control to where I could double the sound it'd be perfect.

I think the bet bet would be a 1 chamber flow, it should have a similar sound but it will be louder

I think you need to give it a few days/weeks to burn off the interior coating crap they put in from the factory. I swear mine got louder as the broke in.

But on a side note, your right about the Cobra sounding different than the GT, the 4v have a deeper tone to them so that might have something to to w/ the sound.

That could be true, I swear my GT was EXTREMELY loud! Hopefully it will burn it off and be loud as well. Thanks!

I've always thought 2V's have a deeper tone than 4V's. 4V's have a more refined higher pitch to them as opposed to the olderschool 2V IMO...
