Default Stock Shifter

Does the Stock 03-04 Cobra shifter feel just as notchy and stiff as a A/M? In otherwords is the shifter sloppy or no?

I am considering getting a Cobra and I wanna know if the shifter is stiff even in stock form. I have driven a cobra with an a/m shifter and didn't like the feel of it.

Does the shifter feel like a T5 or T45 or the newer Tranny's the TR3650. I have driven mustangs with the tr3650 and I loved the feeling of it, nice and smooth and was easy as driving a ford escort etc. sorry that was the only car I could come up with at this time.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Also if anyone has a video of them shifting their cobra with a stock shifter feel free to post up.

IMO the stock shifter is not notchy but it is very sloppy and the throws are pretty long. Shifting to 3rd and 5th were a complete joke. The day before I went and picked up my cobra I already ordered a MGW short throw. I like it because you can rotate the handle to face you more, making shifting easier.

Yea their is quiet a bit of play in neutral, and by a joke I mean it a pain in the ass to get it in 3rd and 5th. The throw are so long that 5th is all the way on the passenger side lol

thats good to know, because that A/M I was playing with was stiff as hell. it felt like I was in gear all the time, I had sometimes use two hands to get into reverse etc. I guess its the center spring or whatever.
