Default Cylinder Compression...

I just finished checking the compression on my 2003 Terminator with 46,000 miles and all 7 cylinders showed 180 psi but number 8th showed only 150 psi...

Should I freak out?????

any advice is welcome.

Squirt some oil into cylinder 8 and recheck. If the numbers get better than your rings or cylinder is bad. If the numbers stay the same than you have a bad valve or seat. My guess is a scored cylinder from overheating due to poor cooling circulation in that area of the motor. 150 psi is lower than the other cylinders but the car will still run. Motors are usually considered OK till compression gets lower than 120 psi.

Well really, all cylinders need to be within 10% of eachother. #8 is hurtin'...
