I don't have a head cooling mod. I don't really buy into the aftermarket hype of coolant not flowing back there. I'm not sayin it doesn't help circulation...I just think it's not needed, especially on the revised 04 heads. I've never had head cooling issues, or over heating problems...even under high boost. It's kind of a gimmick product IMO.
This is true.

I don't run ANY cooling mods aside from straight distilled water and water wetter. It makes 750 rwhp and it IS my daily driver. I've driven it across the U.S. twice.

wow! so why does everyone stress cooling mods if theres no big issue with it?
I to question the validity of the head cooling mod. The problem is the dohc setup itself, its more a murphys' law type situation. But with regard to how much power you can make, that also depends on the car's use.

TRADE MY Mach 1 HOOD + scoop set up for easy GT install (attached, no intake system necessary, unless you want it) for a COWL hood and maybe STOCK + CASH (but probably not). The hood is painted silver, in great shape, does need a color sand, but thats no biggie. Would prefer a swap for a silver one, but will consider many options. Need to trade due to changed plan on this car. RTP/Greensboro/Charlotte
It's a very neutral product. I view it like this:
Ford was aware of the problem in 03. Ford revised it's heads in mid 03 to rememdy. Haven't heard much about it since. People believed that this "coolant issue" was a possible culprit of the "head tick". It has been shown that the tick was not caused by this. So as I said, this isn't a product that is a fix for impending engine doom, but more for piece of mind knowing that your coolant is flowing back there. The only way you'll ever truly know if your heads are affected is by putting a cylinder head temp thermocouple in the rear of both heads and doing some testing. Other than that I think that it's a hundred bucks better spent on something else.
Just my .02.
