metco 10mm auxiliary idler wont fit?
ok so i have the metco auxiliary idler/snubber pulley it came on the car with a 90mm im getting some belt slip so i thought id move the 100mm pulley i have just below the aux bracket up to the bracket but when i put the 100mm pulley on it hits the water pipe because the pipe flares out towards the center of the motor and that extra 10mm makes it hit the pipe, but metco sells the 100mm idler for these brackets WTF? i dont really want to buy the 2 or 4 psi lower and swap my upper out if i dont have to everyone telling me they see the best numbers and torque curves with a stock lower does it make that big of a difference?
anyone else have this problem with the auxiliary pulley?
im running a 2.5" blower pulley but if it changes my curve for the worse id rather not change my lower pulley kinda pointless to add boost if you loose your nice torque curve

pic would be nice, im running a 100mm aux idler from steeda, a 100mm idler, and a 2.83 blower pulley on the eaton w/o any probs. is your belt slip b/c the belt is starting to wear or maybe ur belt is too long?

heres the 90mm pulley if you look just behind the top of the pulley it looks as if there is a sleeve or something over the water pipe thats what the 100mm pulley hits 90mm pulley isnt big enough to rub against the sleeve or what ever it is
heres the 100mm pulley and u cant tell but it hits that stupid water pipe..
p.s. just talked to metco and they said they revised the bracket a few years ago and i may have the old version the new version was designed around the 100mm pulley where as the old is for the 90mm but there is no way of telling wich one i have

what if you put 2-3 washers behind the pulley bearing? the bolt will still go through, i doubt it will be loose or have any risk of coming off, it will just sit closer to the front of the belt rather than the center of the belt.. but only by 2-3 MM

i have thought about this too i havent tried it, the only question i had was how would the pulley alignment be, maybe ill snag some washers from our bins at work and see what she looks like if the belt will ride on there with 1 or 2 washers i might try it but gonna buy an extra belt just in case she throws it
