Default What up!!! New guy from Long Island

Hey whats up everyone! I have ALOT of questions and alot to learn.

Basically, my brother is the one with the mustang but im the mechanic. So i view this car as my own anyway.

its a 97 cobra. Its red, black interior sitting on crome cobra rims. Has exhaust on it, from H pipes back. Eibach lowering springs, short shifter and thats pretty much it.

but here is the problem.... sucks right. something started ticking and we can figure out it. so im gonna be searching like crazy and posting up.

So hopefully all you guys can help me out with this car and all things to come in the future.

Ticking sound could be several different things. Possibly an exhaust leak?

It can be an exhaust leak, but it can also be the heads ticking or was that only the problem for 99+?

no. im from Mineola. nassau county. havent been to any shows with this car. been to the ones on sunrise highway in merrick.

my friend has a 97 white cobra on FR500's and side exhaust.

as for the noise, i tore down the motor already. one of the rod end caps was loose. the bolts were backed out about 1/8" and there was a gap betwee the 2 rod pieces. so that was the problem.

basically someone did a rebuild and never torqued down the rod bolts. ****ing sucks for us but now i have a chance to do a full rebuild.

just looking for a machine shop in long island.

if you have the money, keep the crank, forged pistons and rods.
