Default 99 Cobra T-45 tranny or Tremec?

To my understanding the 99 Cobra has a T-45 tranny, but I noticed today that the tranny housing is stamped Tremec? Can anyone shed some light on this? The Tremec tranny is stronger than the older T-45, right?

a t45 is a t45 no matter what is on it. TTC bought Tremec and than bought Borg-Warner manual transmision. So they are the same thing anyway

since Tremec bought Borg-Warner that explains why Tremec is stamped on the tranny

i like how my t45 shifts in my gt vs my t56 in my termi. the t45 is much smoother and makes much less noise. the t56 is cluncky and doesnt shift as smoothly. my termi makes less power and has less miles than my gt. if you want a 6 speed, then by all means get one.

Good info. Thanks. The t45 does shift pretty smooth as long as you don't sh** the gears
