Default Which exhaust will give my 96 cobra the best gains?

What is the best exhaust pipes or system for my 96 mustang cobra? I am more interested in power gains but having a good sound (not necessarily loud) is a plus! Right now I have the stock headers with the collectors and welded on pipes to flowmaster 40s with down turns.

The best power gains will come from a good set of long tube headers, off road x-pipe (or catted if daily driver= minus a few horsepower), and a good "flow through" cat back system. I have a catted UPR x-pipe with Magnaflow cat back and it flows/sounds awesome. It has a deep rumble at idle and a roar at WOT. I would also replace the stock air intake for a cold air asap to have good flow from intake to exhaust.

Thanks for the advice! That would be my first step before getting springs!
