Default Thinking of getting 1996 Cobra

Hey, I have a buddy that has a 1997 Cobra for sale and said I could give him $8000 for it. It has 68,000 miles on it. I was wondering if this is a good deal. Alternatively this would not be my daily driver and im looking to maybe race it. Just wondering if a stock 1997 Cobra is fast and if this is a good deal.
Thanks!

***I put 1996 in the title...meant 1997***

8k seems pretty normal for a 97 Cobra.
They do pretty good should be mid 13 sec (maybe a little higher in the 13's) depending on if your a good driver

thats a decent price for the miles, look on autotrader tho i've seen some for cheap recenty... might be scams though. Bramas they run more in the higher 13s. If you throw a set of 4.10 gears in it'll be a fun car.

That's why I put "maybe a little higher" in my post
I knew If I put 13.8/14 someone one come on say BS they run 13.5 so I tried to word it the best I could without being corrected
Plus I figured if I can run 13.19 with basic stock 4V and 4.30's and I suck at driving. I figured a real driver can go 13.5

I bought my 96 cobra about a month ago... It's mystic with 29,000 miles on it and I paid $8,500............ It's a hurting economy out there, and people are willing to go down on the prices of them.... I got him down from 11,000 to $8,500........ So get him down on it some more......

i ran a high 13.7, (13.79) @ 102 but i spun 2nd gear so perhaps its possible, i guess thats why i trapped 102, seems a bit high for a 13.7, 2.09 60' idk, 13.19 isn't bad with 4.30s, i was stock besides a mid-pipe and a muffler. What'd your 60' look like? the internet has em at a 14.0 which is slow.

Here are my slips from earlier this year. Only made it to the track once this year.
Those times are with the IRS in and BFG KDWS tires
