What does the ticking sound like? Does is sound like a chain rattling? Or does it sound like something else? Does it only happen for a few hundred rpm or does it continue all the way to high rpm? Does it happen at part throttle or wide open?

Ok...you're detonating. DO NOT KEEP ON IT!!!

What gas are you running? You have too much spark advance down low or not enough octane. I recommend buying 3 or 4 gallons of race fuel and adding it (or Torco at a minimum) until you can figure out what's wrong.

Do you have a Predator or Hand Held tuner?

How long has this been happening?

You're going to have to take it to a tuner or buy a hand held and retard timing...but the only real way it through a tune from a tuner. UNLESS!!! You have a Steeda timing adjuster...it looks like a blue handle thingy on the front of your crank shaft (balancer)...retard timing on that if so equipped.
