If its ticking have someone rev to where it ticks and lay on the ground next to car it might be an exhaust leak

but its coming from inside the engine...the exhaust is fine

Gotcha i missed that part.take a screwdriver and hold the handle to your ear and the metal part to the engine so you can find exactly which part the tick comes from.report back after that and we can help.

For the heck of it, have you tried any Lucas oil?? ...just to see if it quits the engine noise a little??

can i put it in with 5w-20 full synthetic from valvoline?
