Default 04 Cobra bumper fascia seems loose

I am new to the site. Just bought an 04 Cobra. When I was washing it I lifted up on the bumper and the whole thing moved. Looks like 2 plastic screws hold it in place on top by radiator. They were loose but I couldnt tighten or loosen them. I am concerned that maybe this was in an accident and not attached properly. I dont see any other signs of damage or repair. The intercooler has been changed to Fluidyne but radiator is original. I have clean carfax and the car runs and looks great. Is this how they are?? Should I just remove the plastic screws and use stainless?

Thanks
Jim

those screws don't really secure the bumper. they are the type that are jusdt used to hold a plastic clip. there is no threading behind those so using a steel screw will not do anything. the bumper is hel in place by the tabs under the headlights and the 2 bolts in each wheelwell on the sides.

I meant to say replace the plastic screws with a stainless machine screw and nut so it could be tightened.

Is it normal that the fascia has some play or should it be fairly solid and screwed down?

Thx Jim

i'll check mine for you when i get home. i think it has a little play in the area where those screws are but it should not be falling off lose if that what you are finding with yours.

Mine is the same way. Have not done anything to fix it yet.
