Default Ticking sound at idle only--common 4.6 noise?

After my pleasant drive in my new Cobra, I pulled into my driveway only to discover a faint tick noise while at idle. I'll describe the noise as good as possible.

-ONLY ticks at idle--stops the second rpm's are raised
-pretty sure its not a pulley
-sounds like metal on metal
-comes from top left side of engine by intake
-engine runs like champ--only 60k miles
-only makes noise when warmed up--at start up noise is not heard
-ticking is steady, as with idle rpm

I was thinking injector, but I kinda doubt it.
Maybe valve? But it doesn't raise with RPM's.
Maybe chain, but doens't rattle enough, and too low miles for that to go bad.
Detonation maybe, but only one cylinder?

PLEASE HELP!

OK, so I won't just say it sounds like just metal on metal, but it sounds like something tapping something.

Paradigms are no good.

I know my injectors on my car are pretty damn loud at idle. Loud tick/tapping.

I think I'm just a little paranoid. I just need an aftermarket exhaust to hide any engine noise.

Haha... I was like this when I first got my car. These motors and injectors just make alot of noise. What is all done to your car? Post up some pics!

I thought I put up pics in my profile. It's bone stock and has only 60k miles. One owner, 40+ year old guy. I plan on doing some preventative maintenance before I mod. And I need a new rear window--it has a small leak. But plans are full exhaust--flowmaster probably-I like the chamber sound, intake, pulleys, suspension, and subtle exterior mods to make it look sharp. Oh, and its not completely stock--I put the little snakey in the grille

I'll have to go check it out. Throw some Kooks or ARH longtubes on their, pricey but well worth the money. IMO the Mac and BBK longtubes are crap. I love my ARH setup! I have never scraped with my ARH's and my car sits pretty low.

Eh, I'm gonna need some serious convincing to get longtubes. I was thinking shorties, catted x-pipes, and Flowmaster American Muscle cat-back. What are the advantages of longtubes?

My 4.6 has ticked at idle since day one. Can't hear it inside the car though. Lift the hood and it's loud.
