well you cant do Pullies and a supercharger,so dont waste your money. and there really isnt any point in cams + supercharger because the stock shortblock craps out at about 450-ish

Hate to say it but start with an LS1 swap? 281 isn't enough displacement to get to 400 RWHP cheaply. Hopefully the 302 Coyote will be available at 400 BHP?

I think 400 bhp can be obtainable without too much craziness.

I was thinking staying n/a for a long while anyway. I want to put street cams in it. I mean, the cars came n/a, would they be worth more to keep them that way?

Along with the usual fuel systems, what other things need upgrading when putting on a s/c? New clutch? Beef up tranny?

Saw a '03-'04 stock s/c for sale on ebay. Says it comes with everything for $1200.

Suppose I get something like this, which is a way better power adder than cams for the same price, what else would I need.

I know I need a remap, is the stock fuel pump fine? What hp would I be looking at?

You'd be at 390 bhp with the basic M-112 swap. The thing on ebay does not come with everything, I saw that one too, you still need the alternator, and a few other things as well. Don't forget that your engine does not have forged internals so you're going to be stuck under 400 bhp unless you want to buy new rods/rings soon.

Hell if we're talking V8 swaps, why not swap in a stroked and forged 302 or 351 and put a Kenne Bell on top? Way cheaper and easier than an LS1 or LS2 swap and the 351 can hold more power than the 4.6 or 5.0.

Yeah, i can get a Ford Racing 4.6 or 5.0 for the same price as a KB setup.

An Eaton swap is gonna cost you a lot more than $1200. Blower, TB, MAF, and HE doesn't even begin to scratch the surface to what you'll need. I'd say you'll need around $2500 at the very least but this will get you above 400whp.
