2003-2004 SVT Cobra

cobra, this thread has been asked many times.
the 03-04 cobras have a completely forged 4v motor capable of handling 700~ or more rwhp, the tranny is the t-56 tranny (MUCH higher tq rating than the 3650), the rear end is forged, irs (which makes street driving better but not so much for drag racing), etc...
the 05-10 gt's have a non-forged 3v motor capable of handling roughly 450rwhp, a t-3650 carried over from the 01.5-04 gt's which is only rated for 360tq at the flywheel, the same weak 8.8 rear end from like 94 up.
basically the cobra is EASILY modified to be fast. a grand in parts and you can be running just shy of 500rwhp (smaller blower pulley and a few other boltons). theres no needing to worry about if or when your gonna blow something on the car at those power levels either, everything is beefed up.

After owning both cars mentioned, 03/04 cobra FTW! The only thing I really liked about the s197 better was the interior. But OP, honestly if you got the money I would go after a 2011 gt with the 5.0 in it.
Where at in IL are you OP?
