Why are Cobra's nicknamed "terminator"?

Why are Cobra's nicknamed "terminator"?

I never heard that before 'till i came into this forum.
Does it have any referance to THE Terminator (Arnold's character)?

its the nickname SVT gave the car when it was under development. i don't know why they called it terminator specifically...if it was because of the movie or because it will terminate anything in its class or what but it stands up to its name.

Yes, 03/04 Cobra's....was an internal code name from Ford!

im assuming they named it the terminator because like arnold, the machine will destroy anything in its path on the street. It lives up to its name so why not continue using it.
