a kid i know has one hes been workin on a 2 year build still havent seen the road but should make around 700...but its not needed at all just more of a pain the 8.8 with stronger axles and diff will work for what ever power your stock motor could throw at it..
i have an eaton hd differental 31 spline axles 3.73 gears welded torque boxes and axles tubes 2 step and no lift shiftboxes being launches on 24x16 slicks and it didnt budge and it wont youll break your tranny motor mounts clutch bent rims universals all that stuff before you snap this rearend....dont switch it will be a wasted money put if you just build your rearend it will be stronger then any power you can throw at it with a total total rebuild
built 8.8 is far cheaper and just as strong. You can probably peice together a seriously solid 8.8 for 1000 bucks and not have to worry about much. A stock 8.8 probably wont last long if your making decent power.
ya thats prolly alittle deal but idk detriot to tell you for sure...and you must have a shop shim in the rear differential if not it will make some lovely sounds and eventually destroy itself...
