Unhappy Battery light on and off

Well another problem is occuring that bothers me. The battery light comes on if i excelerate faster than normal (not flooring it) but pretty much half way my battery light comes on in the dash then it goes away in a little after like 5 minutes. Is this do to a bad alternator or bad battery? I had bad corrotion on my battery cables and terminals so i cleaned them up and all. My battery looks pretty worn out and alternator as well. I wonder if both need replacement? Is there any high performance alternators? and i now red optima battery is good but the mech down the street said a high output battery is NOT good for computer controlled alternators so i wanna knowe what battery is good ad high performance alternator is good for the car? and what the prblem would be.

...These 03/04 Cobra's have been know to have alternator problems (heat) ...Knock on would I've had no problems!

Maybe you should take the alternator off & get it tested!

Hmmmm heat. Makes sense but i dunno. I would test it myself but i dont have the multimeter and equipment to do so plus i really dont feel like taking it all apart i may just get it down at the shop.

Cobra alts are known screw ups. I had a alternator go bad on mine just a few weeks ago after i drove about 400 miles straight on the car and i think it got overheated. Invest in a voltage guage so you can keep a eye on it, then you will know if for sure its your alternator.... but it could just be normal i see mine on and off all the time.

Had the same issue with mine when I got it. It was the alternator, had it replaced and all is good.

Thats better news to me at least. Yea it seems like it always goes on when the rpms get high. Then it goes off after i coast. Weird but i will keep an eye on it. Maybe i will just replace it.
