Does anyone know anything about these O-rings? I've the oil in the coolant, but no coolant in the oil scenario, which points to the oil cooler. (Yes, I know, I have a GT, but some on the 98's came with them for some reason.)

1) Can I get all the needed O-rings from the Ford Parts counter
2) Is there any difference between the 96-98 and the 99-01 ones
3) How much am I looking at for this stuff?

yes if it has it ford will provide it...they are like 13 dollars one big one for the cooler and a smaller one for the shaft that the filter shrews onto which also holds the cooler on

Yeah, I've thought about that too. But I'll continue to refuse the thought until it hits me in the face.....so to speak. If it ends up being the head gasket I'm going to track down some PI heads before I bolt the crappy NPI one back up.

I got my o-rings this afternoon, waiting for the fluids to cool off so I can drain them and not have my skin burned off. ~$50 from Speed Concepts 4V Oil Cooler O-Rings/Gasket and Tool.

make sure to keep your mouth closed when you pull the coolant hose off the cooler lol ..i got a mouth full lol

Yeah, I should have keept my eyes, nose, ears and mouth closed. Oily water is disgusting to clean out of those places..................

All done, it's torqued down to spec on the center pin and the adapter to block. Oil'd and filled with water and no leaks yet. Just need a ride to the autoparts store to get some PS fluid. I had to take the resevoir hose (no pressure) off to get to the clamp for the lower hose. ~$60 and 5 hours total investment. Not too bad if it fixes it.
