Question New Termi owner....New clutch ASAP

It's been 2 days since i bought my 2003 black hardtop cobra (freaking love it!) and i know two things that need to be done

1.It needs a new clutch

2. The front left strut needs replacing becuase it squeks when turning wheel (even after greasing it)

So i've done some research on the clutches for these cars and my top choice is the centerforce dual friction clutch followed by the king cobra clutch.

My question is if i do get the CF dual friction will i HAVE too buy an aluminum flywheel such as fidanza OR can i just resurface this flywheel without having any issues? (the car is all stock except for a BBK cai)

and do I NEED the quadrant/adjustment??? (i will get 2.81 pulley swap, LT headers and dynotune eventually this year)

or can that be put in later down that road if problems start to occur?

(reason why im so desperate to do this ASAP is because when i let off the clutch the car starts to shake abnormally bad) *mechanic said its flywheel and clutch.

the shaking doesnt hurt the car cuz as soon as i am out of first gear it shifts real smooth and HAULS SO MUCH ***!!! (compared to my modded 05 gt)

p.s- The guy i got the car from said he supposedly changed the clutch a few months ago but either he put some junk type of clutch, they didnt do it right or he never changed squat.

Thanks for reading,

new proud termi owner!

A friend just told me that maybe installing an adjustable clutch cable with quadrant firewall or something could solve the issue ??? Any suggestions?

I just bought a clutch for my 97 Cobra and I got it from billetdepot.com
I went with the Valeo King Cobra Clutch, great prices.
I would also get the firewall adjuster and quadrant but by a Ford cable.
After markets cables I read snap easy over OEM Ford.

As for Flywheel its up to you really,Alum spin up faster over steel and may gain a few HP's but I went with a Billet Steel (OEM Ford racing) where I like to Drag race

as for the noise you are hearing in front end could be your tie rod end on that side, they dry out(no zerks) and start squeaking.
had to replace both of mine on my 97 Cobra and 99 GT do to same problem.
Do replace both even if other one isnt making noise because it will soon enough.

GL enjoy that Tremi, I know I would

After market adjustable cables are garbage, your best bet is to run a stock ford cable and modify for use with a firewall adjuster and a triple hook quadrant, and yes you can use a resurface stock flywheel. As far as the squeek goes it can be a number of things but these cars are notorious for the rack bushings to start squeeking due to the metal collars that run through them.

I'll be going with a CF Dual Friction Clutch in the near future! ...I just installed a MM clutch quad and firewall adjuster with the stock cable!

hey guys thanks!

well i went to mechanic today and he said he can get me an OEM 03/04 clutch kit (with bearing and all) for 242.99
I think im going to go with that considering the near stock power my car has and kind of low on money.

AND it was the left front strut MOUNT so i'm getting that replaced!

thanks for advice guys!

Yea I'm happy about the price but in later months when I do the pullies , dunno tune and either long tube headers or port the blower I would HAVE to get a new clutch for the power correct? Or Would this do?
