Default how indestructable are termis?

i was reading on another forum and a few people stated how if you are racing from a roll on the highway the termi's engine are bound to blow????

he said that our cars 5/6th gear serve as an overdrive and that if we down****, hit 4rth, hit 5th, hit 6th shifting hard more than once in one night of racing then *blow goes our engine.

is this true? (i doubt it)

kind of scared me because i like racing with my friends here and there and 80% of the time they are highway runs.

i'll put the link if you m'fers would like to see it.

There have been a lot of guys that spin rod bearings when they hit high rpms in 5th and 6th gear so yes that is the weak spot on them due to staying in higher rpms for a longer period of time since 5th and 6th are overdrive gears. You will be fine doing a roll race as long as you don't stay go into the real high.rpms for long

It is true, high speed 5th and 6th gear pulls are ussually the death of the motor. I dont know many people who roll race to high 5th and 6th gears anyways, thats just stupid if you cant figure out who won before you hit 130+. Roll racing, or dig racing either way when you are making that much heat in 5th and 6th you are just asking for trouble on ANY motor... As far as indestructable, they are about as good as you get when it comes to a stock engine with the power they put down. I ran over 700hp on my completely stock car for almost 47k miles(other than the fuel pumps) and guess what finnally failed? One of the fuel pumps and it took my pistons with it.

yeah, I've heard that our cars don't like to be in the high rpms for long periods of time...

I would imagine alot of this failure has to do with the head cooling issues and detonation correct?
