Default Grinding when shifting to second...

I have an 01 cobra with 89k miles and I just had a new clutch put in it. It grinded in second before that and it still does. When the car is just idling at a stop, it shifts into second just fine. But when I want to shift it into second while the car is moving, it has a very hard time and grinds a lot.. What could be the problem and how much to fix it?

clutch not completely disengaging or your shift forks are starting to get worn going into that gear

Bad synchro would be my guess.

Sounds like a trans issue not the clutch. Like moonshine said, most likely the synchros

I did a little research on the TR-3650 because my 2nd gear feels a little sloppy engaging while moving and it turns out that the weak point in those transmissions are the 2nd gear synchros. From what I read they are typically the first thing to wear out in those transmissions. Worn out 2nd gear synchros would be my guess.

I'd go with bad synchro, if not it's the fork.
Gotta pullt the trans either way though.

I agree on the synchro ...have the tranny rebuilt with new synchro's and you're good to go!
