2003 rear pinon seal
I need help. I have a 2001 bullitt with an irs out of a 2003 cobra. I had a rear pinon seal leak that was recently replaced. The shop owner did mention that if its replaced that it may not go back to the same. I was thinking that it may need to be replaced some time in the future. This didn't bother me too much and since I was losing fluid quickly, I figured it needed to be done.
Not too long after, I heard a noise while driving. I can't really explain it well except it appears while accelerating, deccerlating and coasting. You cannot hear it outside of the car and initially it sounded like to was coming from the transmission or so. You can hear it in every gear and coasting. The noise sounds like its a whirl or a whine. It does not change in pitch but only in volume. My questions are 1.Would a rear pinon whine after being replaced? 2. What else could create this noise? 3. What noises are common with the IRS?
Help me out guys. This noise is irritating the hell out of me.
Edit: my bad, it's a 2004 IRS if that makes any difference lol
