Has anyone hooked up a usb port to their stock stereo?
My tape deck is not working so I cannot play the music off of my IPhone. I saw people who have connected a usb port and plug directly into that.
Thanks.

I'm sure if your "tape deck" does not have a visible USB port, you would need to replace the whole radio to get a USB port. I just replaced the radio in a 2003 Vibe, took about 1 hr and I have blue tooth play back from my phone, USB stick music and hands free phone. Cost from Crutchfield was about $100. For $300 you might be able to get a navigation unit.

Thanks for the response. I saw some videos on how it could be possible to add the port.

If that's possible, please post the link. Might be of interest to others.

I though all of the shaker 500s had a USB port in the console, do you need to add one more?

Thank you.
I have a car charger. I guess the transmitter is different.

just got to see what kind you want
personally I like the ones with a wire, not mounted to mp3. because the mounted ones will break at the plug just from handling
