Default 2001 MUSTANG COBRA SVT TO SUPERCHARGER

Hi all I have a 2001 Mustang Cobra SVT with the usual DOHC 4.6
I am thinking of installing the Eaton Supercharger setup (when I can found one) from a 2003/4 Mustang Cobra.

I know there has been many treads done to death on this. But I have never heard of any success stories.

Have you done this and what issues and success did you have?

Anyone have pictures, information such as what is completely required to do the mods.

So looking forward to getting a S/C on her. Not for mad drag racing just for a little more power 400 hp on 7-8 ib boost max. Just love the sound of them.

Cheers from Sydney, Australia.

you'll have to convert to the upper and lower intake from 03/04 cobra. id just go with a vortech/paxton or procharger that way you'll have a direct bolt on kit. with no hassle.

another option would be to call kenne bell, they make more power and have a whole kit, bolt it on and go. http://www.kennebell.net/KBWebsite/S...cobramach1.htm

Cheers boys. Only thing that worries me is over doing it. Too much boost and KABOOM.
how much can a standard 4.6 DOHC built engine handle?
Need to work that out. Who has installed a Supercharger on standard 2001 4.6 DOHC and how did it go?
Cheers from Oz

my 2v stock block is running between 9-11psi depending on the air temp, its not the boost that kills, its the horsepower, the safe limit for a stock 2v bottom end is around 450 rwhp, i suspect it will be the same for your NA 4v

It is easier to go the aftermarket route. There is a ton of parts that are needed to install the Eaton. This comes up every once in awhile, so there are a bunch of old posts on this subject.
