Default 2015 mustang. The beauty is in the details

Ford just put out a TV ad and full photo release of the new 2015 mustang. http://www.ford.com/mobile/cars/mustang/2015/

All the speculated renders got the basic shapes right, but they missed the details. And this is one time that I think the beauty truly lies in the details.

I know this is technically the wrong section, but I'd like to have a discussion on how us 2010+ folks think about it and how it compares to our cars.

Me, I don't regret buying my 2013 at all. I really think it's two different types of cars now. Mine is a tougher, meaner, more badass muscle-car look... the new one is a more sleek and sexy beast.

Both looks are awesome in their own way.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

My 2014 has essentially the same lines as your 13,and completely agree. Very tough looking car. The 15 almost has too many sedan type lines for me, but still a very good looking car. I do like the GT on the tail panel versus the big round thing on the back.

I will say I am happy I got my 12..Not really digging that look at all. I think the rear looks down right stupid

Gee, wouldn't it be nice if the forum had a section to talk about the 2015?

Actually this was a post specifically about our 2010+ cars and how we feel our car compares to the 2015... but now that it's been moved, that discussion no longer matters.

I guess it got moved because of the title and not about the content.

I came here to talk about my 2013... and how i think it's better than the new one, and go into specifics why... but can't really do that now.

I just bought my '12 a few months ago (preferred most of the styling cues over the changes that came in '13) and couldn't be happier with it. I think Ford really nailed the mean and agressive muscle car look with the '10-'14 models. They've definitely stepped away from that with the '15 and although it's not my cup of tea, I could see a lot of people liking it. It looks too much like a sedan to me, like a cousin of the Honda Accord and Ford Fusion. I understand Ford wanting to design a more sleek looking Mustang that is sports car esque, but why not leave the Mustang to muscle and design a new car?

^^^ That Honda actually has better lines....think they realized after the design, they created an Accord, and stretched out the rear to make it different!

Hmmm... I am on the fence about this one.
There are things that I like, and things that I don't.
I think the interior looks pretty good... Although a bit more busy than that of my 2008. But, I do like the switch panel under the HVAC controls.
Steering wheel looks a bit crazy with all the controls on it!

Not a fan of the look on the rear or the windows. Looks too much like a Hyundai Genesis coupe.

Fully agree with the 2013-2014 being tougher, meaner, more badass muscle-car look. Very respectable point... but I think it is a bit bias due to the point you own one (not to offend at any point - I own a 2006)... What will be the take if you are to buy a Mustang in fall 2014 and they place the 2015 GT aside the 2014 GT ($3-4K cheaper)? Will you still buy the 2014 or you will make the sacrifice and invest $4k more for all the extras you will get? As you mention, "beauty is in the details"... Ford quotes the 2015 GT will beat the 2012 Boss 302 in the track... that is cutting down about 6 seconds per lap (2013 lightning lap car-and-driver) and improving , which is huge, and we are talking just 1.5 sec slower than the 2013 GT500!!! Now, let's say it does not go all the way down the 6 sec and it only lowers 4 sec/lap, it will still faster than 2013 BMW M6. So yes, I like the car a lot, not as much on the look (which I like, specially in the inside) as what is coming in terms of chassis and engine set up. GM is going to continue looking at our stop lights for many years to come!
Cheers,
Felipe.

Cheers,
Felipe.

The posts seems specifically about the S550 too and basically 'what do you think'. I don't understand how you could make this post considering the content of the OP below, especially the bolded:

Since the S550 isn't released in dealer showrooms, this section will basically be 'what do you think' and threads with any more details released like power numbers and cost at this point. You can definitely continue this thread's discussion in here, where it belongs. Carry on.
