Default Mustang Radio Antenna

Hey Guys,

I have been looking at some images and I don't see one. I want to know if any one can confirm that this gen mustang won't have an ugly radio antenna sticking out.

Thanks.

From what I can see about the car, the convertible will have an antenna on the back fender like the 2013/14 has. But the coupe won't have it since the antenna will be housed in the little "bug" on the roof - similar to my wife's Lincoln.

Does that house the GPS too?

Not that I've seen any confirmation, but it would certainly make sense. I'm pretty sure that's how just about all modern cars work now.

The little bug is a satellite antenna.
Not a FM radio frequency antenna.
The new stang and probably your wifes
Lincoln have it is the back glass
similar to defroster wires but for the
FM radio reception if no external antenna is present.

My new Challenger does not have an external
antenna for the FM portion of the radio.
It is in the upper portion of the rear glass
and the satellite 'bug' is on top of the roof.

A 50 ohm end fed 1/4 wave antenna at 88-108Mhz is
roughly 29" long. No place it the 'bug' for that..

A 1/4 wave at 29Mhz is 102" long like the old 102" whips for CB radio...

As the frequency goes up, the wavelength goes down.
