Nahhh, overall they're drastically different, but "looks nothing like the Fusion" is a bit disingenuous. Ford is definitely reigning in the stang's unique styling in favor of reconciling its overall brand image.

Whatever Ford is doing is about profit! The first Mustangs certainly weren't an aggressive car for power hungry motorheads. They appealed most to young girls and secretaries that wanted a transportation car, but it made money! Maybe Ford is taking the Mustang back to that market because that's where most of the sales are! As I've said, look what Ford did to the Thunderbird instead of making it a true sports car!

I think you may be right. It sure was great that FORD put the "signs" on these cars so you could identify them. The "Chinese secretaries" may love the bright red "2 door Escort"

It looks like a drunken one night stand between an S95 and a fusion. I like it, but I don't love it. The S197 lured me into a dealership to look at(and buy)a CAR(instead of a TRUCK)for the first time since the 70s.
