When did everyone get their DORA/VIN?

I ordered mine on September 28th and got an order sheet before they submitted it. The guy who actually does the ordering said they will have the VIN/DORA after a few days, while the sales guy said "2-3 weeks".

I just called the sales guy, and he said "it's probably not ready yet" and I pushed him to find out from the guy who ordered it so I am waiting to hear back from him in a few minutes. I thought the VIN came a few days after ordering, and more importantly I thought the DORA was ready within 24-48 hours?

EDIT: Just got my DORA dated 9/28 lol.

Relax guys! Ever hear of the "watched pot"? (Not weed!) If you think about when your car is coming it will seem like an eternity! Thinking about Christmas makes the waiting time go slower!

I agree with Mr. D. I submitted my order on 8/24, my VIN was assigned a week later and scheduled for assembly on 9/14. I took possession on 10/08 and it seemed like an eternity. Who can blame me? It is a Shadow Black Convertible GT, dark saddle int., 19" wheels, 3.55 gears, blackout package. Now that I have it and all is right in the world, I look back and see that it really didn't take that long to receive it.

A related story!

Short version, when I was in high school my buddy was a friend of a kid in the JC Wrigley's Gum family! My friend was asked to go secretly with the Wrigley father & pick out a 59 FI Corvette for his son's graduation. My friend picked out the best of the best for the kid's father., "Is that exactly the car you & my son would want?" You know what he likes! My friend said, "OH YES!" The Wrigley father told the salesman to order two like the boy described! My friend said, "Oh, are you getting one too!?" The answer was, "Don't you want one too? You help me pick it out, so I thought you have one too!" I thought the story was B.S. until he drove it to school!
